Great article on turning your child into a photograper
It has camera suggestions, yay! I am definitely getting Lily a camera for Christmas. She is always wanting to use my “D” and that puppy is too ’spensive for her to mess with. She turns all sort of objects into cameras and tells me to “smile” and then shows me the “LCD” and asks me “Do you like the picture, Mommy?” Well of course I do!

I’ve pushed this before, but here is a great example: best friends. These photographers are a-maze-ing. Amazing.

I love and adore Etsy. I’ve started buying entirely too much as much as I can there (of things I would normally buy…hahahahahahahaha)
Behold, my latest arrival. These are little houses made of felt that I am going to hang on the girls’ doorknobs (or maybe at eye level on the outside of their doors). They are spectacularly lovely. Maria made them custom for me. Natalie has a butterfly theme in her room, and Lily has flowers. Each one was $20. They were sooooo worth it. Maria, from the shop Intres, lives in Spain! How cool is that? They came all wrapped in a package too beautiful to open. Anyway, someone you know needs one of these! (these are the front and back of each)

Regarding Ike: Hang in there Houstonians – We can do it!
Regarding Matilda Jane: Don’t forget my trunk show is next Saturday the 20th. We are getting the first crack at the brand new West Side line! I am so excited to see it. I’ll mail out those catalogs (because Sack Lunch is sold out practically) as soon as I get them. Please contact me if you want in on the merchandise or to come to the show!! Remember you don’t have to live around here
Here is a pic of a sneak peek of the new stuff, and a blog post announcing the designer’s excitement!
(Not my picture – it’s from another very cool photographer.)

Just another amazing photographer, amazing woman.
She says:
“Sometimes the best, most meaningful images, are those where someone is not looking at the camera. or maybe the focus isn’t perfect. but the moment is captured. the moment of being together and loving one another, is captured.
i learned that…
it’s not about looking perfect. acting perfect. or being perfect.
it’s not about the perfect pose or the ‘perfect’ picture.
it’s about being together as a family.
capturing moments together.
having fun together.
that’s what’s important.”

Don’t forget I’m hosting a Matilda Jane Trunk Show on Sept. 20th. They have clothing for girls size 12 months to adults. The whole collection with pricing is on their website. Click on the 2008 Collection tab. The collection is quite small so it is not overwhelming and not overpriced! Plus, the clothes are absolutely divine.
Even if you can’t make it to the show, check out the collection and email me whatever you would like (name of garment and size of garment) and we can arrange payment. You don’t have to live anywhere near me, for those of you who blogstalk from afar!
I just want your girlies to look this cute! (Look at those legwarmers!!!)

Last night I saw a divine concert from MY FAVORITE AGGIE. That seems like an oxymoron to say “favorite aggie” but it’s true
He is simply a wonderful, humble, disgustingly talented performer and artist. If you have never had the pleasure to see him live, do yourself a favor and catch him when he’s back in town next time. I promise you’ll be so glad you did.
Can you imagine losing this? I cannot. Give your babies extra big snuggles and kisses today. Have a little extra patience and LAUGH. That’s what I’ll be working on this afternoon
Last thing, as Lyle would say…”dance right where you are.”

with laughter and tears are streaming down my face. GO HERE AT ONCE. Thanks, Sundry!!!! If you all haven’t taken my umpteen million prompts to read Sundry’s blog, please get on the wagon. She will make you pee your pants with laughter and nod your head in empathy with her stories. Oh how I love her. Miss Jen Hunter, I believe it was you who turned me on to her…THANK YOU!
