I’m all caught up with recent sessions so thought I’d post THE picture that kicked off my photography business. I took this of Lily in our first official “photo session” and I loved this picture so much I thought, “I can do this, dammit.” It was the type of memory I wanted to capture; her big expressive eyes, holding tight to her Gigi, sort of angry at me, a strange angle, and just as candid as can be.

(this message posted on sara’s behalf by her friend clarissa)
Sara and her family are away from home without power or water for the foreseeable future!
Thankfully, all are safe & sound at her parents’ house (with a generator!). Photos to come!
Updates: (Check back often)
- The Matilda Jane trunk show for Saturday, Sept. 20 is cancelled, but will be rescheduled. Please check back for information.
- All shoots scheduled through Monday, Sept. 22 are cancelled and will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
- All shoots scheduled for the following week (Sept. 23 and on) are tentatively a GO, until further notice.
- Oct. 26-27 Christmas card mini-sessions are still a GO and will be scheduled as soon as she’s able.

Regarding Ike: Hang in there Houstonians – We can do it!
Regarding Matilda Jane: Don’t forget my trunk show is next Saturday the 20th. We are getting the first crack at the brand new West Side line! I am so excited to see it. I’ll mail out those catalogs (because Sack Lunch is sold out practically) as soon as I get them. Please contact me if you want in on the merchandise or to come to the show!! Remember you don’t have to live around here
Here is a pic of a sneak peek of the new stuff, and a blog post announcing the designer’s excitement!
(Not my picture – it’s from another very cool photographer.)
